MLB: St. Louis 10, N.Y. Mets 8 (14 inn.)
NEW YORK, July 27 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols' two-run homer in the top of the 14th inning Saturday gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 10-8 win over the New York Mets.
Pujols finished with five hits and three RBI. Troy Glaus, Aaron Miles and Yadier Molina all had two RBI.
Rick Ankiel had three hits and one RBI, while Skip Schumaker had a single-game career-high six hits for the Cardinals, who snapped a season-high five losing streak.
The winner was Brad Thompson (3-2).
Ryan Franklin blew a save for the sixth time this season when New York's Fernando Tatis blasted a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. Tatis had three hits and two RBI.
New York's Carlos Delgado hit two homers and drove in three runs. Jose Reyes had four hits, one a solo homer in the fourth, and three others had one RBI each for the Mets, whose three-game winning streak ended.
The losing pitcher was Aaron Heilman (1-4).
